76: Immorality
Chapter 76 addresses the "highly immoral" matter of the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, acknowledging widespread instinctive knowledge of such sins, often supplemented by prurient media, but stressing the need for extreme caution when discussing it to protect the innocent. It asserts that immorality begins in thought and desire, not just in outward deeds, and that even the smallest violation of these commandments constitutes a serious sin due to the inherent malice and its offense against God. The chapter dismisses claims of ignorance or weakness as excuses, as natural virtue and conscience instinctively recognize the wrong, and emphasizes that God judges all individuals equally, regardless of gender, despite societal double standards.
