Reading the catholic epistle of St. Jude, it struck me how corruption in the church has existed from the very beginning.
Soon after our Lord ascended to heaven the apostles had to deal with heretics, apostates, and false believers who tried to conform the church to their desires and not the truth of Jesus Christ.
It shouldn’t surprise or alarm us that corruption has always existed in the church. For all men are born into a state of sin and unless they accept the full truth of Jesus Christ they will continue in this state of sin.
Satan, as the lord of the material world, has, and will always try to lead the people of God astray, corrupting souls, and leading them to Hell.
Our times are no different. We have a man sitting in the chair of St. Peter who does not believe the truths of the Catholic faith and who continues to teach error and heresy. He promotes and encourages the worst apostates and heretics in the church. And is working to destroy the authentic Catholic magisterium.
We have priests who promote all form of sexual abomination and sin, who are leading millions of souls to hell.
Personally, I do not know what the truth of all this is other than that Bergoglio, and his closest allies, are not Catholic, at least they do not believe in the traditional teaching of the Catholic Church - I often wonder if they believe in the divinity of our Lord.
So, what recommendations does St. Jude make considering these constant threats and attacks upon the church and our faith? Here is what he says:
Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto life everlasting. And some indeed reprove, being judged: But others save, pulling them out of the fire. And on others have mercy, in fear, hating also the spotted garment which is carnal. Now to him who is able to preserve you without sin, and to present you spotless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, To the only God our Saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and magnificence, empire and power, before all ages, and now, and for all ages of ages. Amen. Jude 1: 21 - 25
The best thing we can do is to keep ourselves in the love of God - meaning that we continue to do those things that show we love God, especially in how we treat each other. We need to trust that He is in control and that He will triumph. As difficult as it can be to trust and wait, we need to have faith. In our journey of faith, we need to practice mercy with others as our Lord practices mercy with us. And we need to stand firm in all the truths of our Catholic faith and never compromise them.
Let no one lead you astray or cause you to doubt in the mercy of Jesus Christ. Our Lord will return one day, and we need to persevere in the face of any difficulty, in the love of Jesus Christ, so that we may wear the crown of glory and enjoy His kingdom forever.
Yours in Jesus and Mary.
